Kingston Local History Society is arranging a trip to Hemerdon House, located close to Plympton. This late 18th century house is set in its own parkland, with a neatly rendered austere exterior that belies a warm, comfortable interior with Georgian elegance overlaid by Victorian solidity.
Built by the ancestors of the current owners, the house contains naval and military mementos, paintings, furniture, china and silver collected by members of the Woollcombe family over many generations.
Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds while the house is open.
If you want to join this interesting outing, please contact either Margaret Kelly (email@example.com) / 810358 Or Rae Musk (firstname.lastname@example.org) /810824, confirming before the end of February the number in your party; whether you need transport; and whether you have any special access needs. The cost of the visit is £7.50 per person (payable in advance) and lunch can be bought in the local pub.
Numbers may be limited and may have to be on a first come first served basis so please let us know as soon as possible.
